One of the hotels, Maldron Hotel Limerick, has raised over €3k last year and they are looking to reaching their target of €5k this for 2017.
A program of events has been arranged over the year to assist in reaching the Dalata Hotel Group Fundraiser target including €600 raised with raffles for Munster rugby tickets and nights away.
The hotel also held a complimentary coffee morning with all donations going to Crumlin. All attendees received a complimentary guest pass to the Maldron Leisure centre and names were put into a raffle for a night away in the Clayton Hotel Galway and also for a free 3 months membership to Club Vitae Leisure centre. Last year this event raised almost €1,000.
The Bike Shop in O’Connell Ave has sponsored a bike for The Maldron Hotel to raffle to also assist in raising funds. The owner, Joe O Carroll was delighted to have the opportunity to assist the hotel for such a worthy cause and the bike will be raffled at the hotel over the coming weeks with all proceeds going to Crumlin.
Roger Cusack, Maldron Hotel Limerick Crumlin ambassador spoke about his role saying “Everyone has a family member that knows of a small child who has fallen ill. I personally have seen the work carried out by Crumlin Hospital staff and I was honoured to get involved. We appreciate every cent that we get in donations and will work vigorously to reach our goal.”
Future events include five members of The Maldron team participating in the Cork Relay Marathon and two members of Club Vitae will also be travelling to New York later in the year from the New York Marathon.
