Limerick continues to cement its reputation as a must-visit destination for international stars, with acclaimed American actresses Danielle Brooks and Eva Marcille becoming the latest celebrities to spend time exploring the Treaty City.
The pair, along with friends and family, recently enjoyed a sightseeing trip around Limerick, taking in some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and sampling its renowned hospitality. Their visit comes amid a growing list of high-profile names who have been spotted in the city and county in recent weeks.
Brooks, best known for her award-winning portrayal of Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson in the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, documented the trip for her millions of social media followers through a series of photos and videos shared on Instagram. The actress, who has also earned critical acclaim for her work on Broadway and in film, appeared to relish every moment of her Irish adventure.
Joining Brooks was Eva Marcille, winner of America’s Next Top Model and a former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The group’s Limerick itinerary included visits to several of the city’s best-known attractions, including King John’s Castle, scenic walks along the River Shannon, and a stop at Robert Byrne Park to admire the sweeping views across the city.
The trip concluded with an evening meal at The Curragower, one of Limerick’s most popular riverside restaurants. Following dinner, Brooks shared a light-hearted video of the group turning a city street into their own fashion runway. Posting the clip on Instagram, she joked: “Honey, get into this walk! Ireland owes me nothing, but maybe one more fish n’ chips! Cause we ate! And just like that – we out!”

Friend of the group Rickie Bobbie also reflected on the visit on social media, posting: “When you go and takeover #Ireland for a few days with friends and family. We brought the #melanin and sun.”
The visitors appeared captivated by the city’s blend of history, culture and hospitality throughout their stay. In a final Instagram Stories post before departing, the group shared a video of a freshly poured pint of Guinness alongside the caption: “Imma just leave this right here.”
Brooks and Marcille are the latest in a growing list of international celebrities who have chosen to spend time in Limerick in recent weeks. Earlier this summer, reality television star, entrepreneur and singer-songwriter Kandi Burruss also visited the city, sharing highlights of her trip with her extensive social media audience.
Actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears, sister of global pop icon Britney Spears and best known for her starring role in Zoey 101, was also recently spotted exploring Limerick with her daughters, visiting a number of the city’s attractions and landmarks.

Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Robin Thicke, whose global hit Blurred Lines topped charts around the world, was photographed during a family visit to Kilmeedy Social Farm while staying at the luxurious Adare Manor Hotel.
The recent influx of celebrity visitors has further highlighted Limerick’s growing appeal as a tourism destination. From its rich medieval heritage and vibrant cultural scene to its award-winning food offering and world-class accommodation, the city continues to attract visitors from across the globe — including some very familiar faces.
With Hollywood stars, television personalities and music icons all choosing to spend time in the region, Limerick’s profile on the international stage appears to be continuing its upward trajectory.
