Treaty United FC welcomes the signings of Dare Kareem and Killian Cantwell

Treaty United FC is delighted to announce the signing of striker Dare Kareem on loan from Drogheda United and the signing of experienced defender Killian Cantwell.
Kareem arrives at the Markets Field having established himself as one of the best young attacking talents in the League of Ireland. The powerful centre-forward had joined Drogheda United’s U20 squad in 2025 before quickly progressing into the seniors.
Kareem made his first-team debut in February 2025 away to St. Mochta’s in the Leinster Senior Cup, before making his League of Ireland debut the following month as a substitute against Shamrock Rovers. His breakthrough continued during the summer, earning his first league start against Galway United in July, where he marked the occasion by scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 victory. That impressive progress was rewarded with his first professional contract later that month.
Since making his senior debut, Kareem went on to make 35 first-team appearances for Drogheda United, scoring three goals. He featured 21 times during the 2025 campaign and has added a further 14 appearances this season, gaining valuable experience at Premier Division level.
31-year-old centre-back Cantwell arrives with a wealth of League of Ireland experience, having made 367 senior league appearances across the Premier and First Divisions during an outstanding career.

A native of Kilkenny, Cantwell began his playing career in the UCD Academy before making his senior breakthrough with Wexford Youths. He has since represented Galway United, Finn Harps, Limerick FC, Athlone Town, Bray Wanderers, and most recently Kerry FC, where he captained the side and established himself as one of the league’s most dependable defenders.
As well as his defensive qualities and leadership, Cantwell has also contributed at the other end of the pitch throughout his career, recording 13 goals and 11 assists in league competition.
Cantwell’s arrival adds invaluable experience, composure and leadership to Tommy Barrett’s squad as Treaty United continue their Premier Division campaign.
Treaty United FC would like to welcome Killian to the club and wish him every success for the remainder of the 2026 season.
