Darragh O’Donovan and Patrick McLoughney launch Children’s Grief Centre Pre-Qualifier Golf Competition

Limerick Hurler Darragh O’Donovan and Limerick Leader Columnist Patrick McLoughney have officially launched the Children’s Grief Centre Pre-Qualifier Golf Competition for the Jp McManus Pro-Am. The Pre-Qualifier will take place on Friday, September 13 at Adare Manor Golf Club. Sister Helen Culhane was welcomed to the Club last Thursday evening by Captain Eoin Shanahan and Lady Captain Mary Moran to help launch this fantastic event, which hopes to raise much-needed funds for the Children’s Grief Centre, and their plans for a new building.

Darragh O’Donovan, Limerick Senior Hurling Team was delighted to lend his support to the event. He first heard about the centre from a School’s Chaplain at St. Clements College and understood the importance of children and young people having a place where they could be listened to.

The Children’s Grief Centre is a free support service for children and young people aged 4 to 18 who are experiencing a loss through bereavement, separation or divorce. With the waiting list at an all-time high, the centre is encouraging people to support this event, by entering into the Pre-Qualifier or by sponsoring a tee box on the day.

Adare Manor Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland golf course steeped in history. It is set within the estate of Adare Manor hotel. The Desmond Castle (1200 AD) is a magnificent backdrop to the 1st and 15th greens, while the ruins of the Franciscan Abbey (1464 AD) dominate the centre of the course.

The cost of entry to the Pre-Qualifier is €100 per person or €300 per group of three. Each Participant will receive a Pro-Am 2020 Entrance Cap, Meal and Goodie Bag and of course a fantastic game of golf at the Adare Manor Golf Club.
