Hundreds of Regeneron employees have came together for the company’s ninth annual Day for Doing Good, marking the largest volunteering effort in the Limerick region to date.

Staff support a range of local projects, from environmental clean-ups and STEM education to women’s support services and city beautification.

The initiative, part of Regeneron’s global commitment to community engagement, sees employees at the Raheen Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS) site volunteering across Limerick.

Projects as part of the 2025 Day for Doing Good include beautifying Sarsfield Bridge, People’s Park, the 1916 Memorial, and the Focus Ireland Crokers Garden/Allotments in Ballyneety; renovating the science lab at Ballina National School; assembling science experiment kits for hands-on STEM camps at Mary Immaculate College and Thomond Community College STEM Expo, inspiring Limerick’s next generation of innovators; preparing care packs for women and children at Coolmine; and donating blood on-site at Regeneron Raheen via the blood bus.

By the end of the week, Regeneron volunteers will have prepared more than 1,000 donated items for local charities, engaged over 1,000 students in STEM activities, and dedicated more than 1,000 hours to improving five outdoor spaces.

This local effort is part of a wider global initiative, with more than 7,000 Regeneron volunteers participating across 11 countries in over 470 community service projects, supporting more than 280 nonprofit and community organisations.

Leonard S. Schleifer, M.D., Ph.D., President and CEO of Regeneron, said, “Regeneron’s commitment to positive social change comes to life during Day for Doing Good. This special day reflects our core philosophy of ‘doing well by doing good,’ as we invest thousands of hours to enhance the well-being of our communities and pave the way for a brighter, healthier future for all.”

Niall O’Leary, SVP and Raheen Site Leader, Regeneron, said, “At Regeneron, we are proud to call Limerick home, and our Day for Doing Good is a true reflection of our team’s commitment to giving back. It’s inspiring to see colleagues from every part of the site come together to support local schools, charities, and community spaces. By working side by side with our neighbours, we’re helping to build a stronger, more vibrant Limerick.”
