Team Limerick Clean-Up ‘Decorate a BIG TLC Christmas Tree’ competition winners announced for 2025

Winners of the 2025 Team Limerick Clean-Up ‘Decorate a BIG TLC Christmas Tree’ Competition have been announced with a special awards ceremony

The winners of Team Limerick Clean-Up’s ‘Decorate a BIG TLC Christmas Tree’ Competition were announced at a special awards ceremony on Friday 28th November in the Crescent Shopping Centre.
All winning teachers and classes were invited to meet TLC co-founders JP McManus and Helen O’Donnell and Limerick Senior Hurling Manager John Kiely.
The ceremony also saw former Captain of the Limerick Senior Hurling Team Declan Hannon, and Santa turn on the Christmas lights and kickstart the festive season at the Crescent Shopping Centre.
Team Limerick Clean-Up celebrates 10 years this year and was delighted to partner with the Crescent Shopping Centre for this festive Christmas campaign.

Over 170 Christmas trees across 59 primary schools were collected as part of the competition and all trees will be on display in the Crescent Shopping Centre for the month of December.
Primary school pupils across Limerick City and County were encouraged to put their creative skills and imaginations to the test by decorating a large Christmas tree with recycled and recyclable materials.
The aim of the competition was to encourage children to learn more about the importance of recycling, sustainability and teamwork.

The competition had four categories with Junior Competition (Junior and Senior infants); Intermediate Competition (1st to 4th class); Senior Competition (5th and 6th class); and Additional Education Needs Competition (all age groups).
The Team Limerick Cleanup competition organisers wished congratulations to all of the worthy winners, and also took the time to acknowledge the efforts made by all of this year’s participants in the ‘Decorate a BIG TLC Christmas Tree’ competition.
They said, “Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s competition. Your Christmas trees will be on display for the month of December in the Crescent Shopping Centre to be admired by the public!”
