Dell EMC Limerick Support Barnardos National Collection Day this Friday

Dell EMC Limerick Support Barnardos and employees are reminding the public about their National Collection Day on Friday 15th September. Employees from the three Dell EMC sites in Cork, Dublin and Limerick have been working with the charity in the build up to this week and will be joining the charity and their army of volunteers to support the fundraising day this Friday.

The children’s charity currently works with more than 14,000 children and families across Ireland. All of the funds raised through the National Collection Day will go towards supporting Barnardos work in communities across Ireland to change children’s lives for the better every day.

Dell EMC employees across the Cork, Limerick and Dublin sites will be supporting this great cause by taking to the streets on 15th September to dramatically increase the number of collection points this year and thus help to raise more much-needed funds. Employees have also been busy organising and engaging in various activities on all Dell EMC sites in order to raise funds and awareness for Barnardos. Dell EMC Cork hosted a successful Mini-Golf Championship last week across their three sites, while Limerick is currently gearing up for their Jersey Day and Dublin are preparing to host a Dodge Ball tournament, to name just a few of several ongoing activities.

Timmy O’Dwyer, Vice President, Service Supply Chain and Site Leader, Dell EMC Limerick said: “We are delighted to be supporting Barnardos not only in their call for volunteers for the National Collection Day on 15th September but also on the day itself. The number of our employees who have been enthusiastically organising internal fundraisers and who cannot wait to get out on the streets of Limerick on Friday really speaks for itself. It’s great for our teams to get out in their local community and show their support for our charity partner, Barnardos. We are delighted to support and enable the great work Barnardos is doing and we encourage people across the country to join us in supporting this great cause by getting involved in some way on Friday.”

Fergus Finlay, CEO, Barnardos said: “The impact that a partnership with an organisation like Dell EMC can make is limitless and already, we are seeing the positive effect. The open approach that the company is taking in terms of internal fundraising is helping us to achieve our goals for the National Collection Day this Friday 15th September. It’s great to see so many Dell EMC employees willing to help and raise awareness of what we are doing as an organisation and we are looking forward to working even more closely with them on a number of Code Work Clubs, which will be introduced to a number of our centres across the country.”
