Limerick Football Club has announced the appointment of Dennis Lukens as their new Director of Football bringing a wealth of football and coaching experience to the club.
Lukens, a UEFA Pro-Licence coach, has previously been the Head Coach for Boston Storm and the Bay Area Seals in the USL, as well as for Kherson Krystal and FC Shipbuilders in the Ukrainian 2nd Division. Additionally, he served as an Assistant Coach for FC Sevastopol in the Ukrainian Premier League.
His expertise extends beyond coaching individual teams as he has been the Director of Coaching for the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association, the Technical Director for both the California Cougars (MLS) and the St. Lucia Football Association, and the Head Coach for the Saint Lucia U23 National Team. He has also been an integral member of the National Coach Education Staff with the United States Soccer Federation.
Most recently, Dennis was at the forefront in Dublin County FC’s application to join the League of Ireland 1st Division. His extensive experience and leadership are expected to bring significant benefits to Limerick FC.
Limerick FC is enthusiastic about Dennis’s appointment, with the club saying in a statement, “Limerick Football Club look forward to working with Dennis in developing on and off pitch structures and supports to deliver a best-in-class Elite player pathway serving the club’s local underage and League of Ireland teams.”
Looking to the future, the club says, “This appointment is part of the club’s firm commitment to fully restoring its Academy, and providing players across the region with the opportunity to reach their potential.”
