The Irish Professional Photographers & Videographers Association (IPPVA) is delighted to announce that Dermot Culhane was announced as the winner of the Documentary Wedding section at the Bank of Ireland IPPVA Professional Photographer of the Year Awards held in Thomas Prior Hall, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 on Sunday, April 29, 2018.
The multi-award-winning photographer from Limerick has built an enviable reputation both nationally and abroad for exceptionally beautiful images captured with a reportage eye. Dermot’s photography is about capturing the moments, and the essence of the person in those moments. He has an incredible ability to anticipate a moment before it happens.
Dermot Culhane is a multi-award winning photographer specialising in wedding photography. Dermot’s natural talent, his eye for detail and dedication to his craft has seen him win many awards during his career. His vast experience in reportage photography along with his ability to make people feel at ease in front of the camera make for outstanding wedding photography. Dermot has had work commissioned from every part of Ireland, UK, and Europe and is a favourite among many celebrity couples. Dermot’s photography is about capturing all the authentic moments that tell the real wedding story.
In 2016 Dermot received the Irish Professional Photographers Associations National Wedding Photographer of the Year award. He has also been awarded the IPPA Best Contemporary Wedding Image of the year and Wedding Portfolio of the year as well as Wedding Reportage Photographer of the year.
Dermot’s fresh outlook, enthusiasm, and creative talent, combined with the very best equipment make his pictures the centrepiece of any room and great conversation pieces, as well as being beautiful reminders of cherished moments.
