The Investors in Diversity Bronze Award from the Irish Centre for Diversity (ICD) recognizes the work undertaken by Irish organizations who have proactive diversity and inclusion policies in place.

President of MIC, Professor Eugene Wall said, “This award recognizes our efforts to date to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion in our practices and we look forward to building on this solid foundation towards the silver award.”

Accepting the award on behalf of MIC, Dr. Elaine Murtagh, Athena SWAN Project Director said, “The Investors in Diversity award compliments MIC’s ongoing work in preparation for an application for the Athena SWAN Bronze Institutional Award in November 2019. The Irish Centre for Diversity has provided valuable feedback on our current policies and made a number of recommendations to enhance our practice. We recognize that there is still much work to ahead of us to progress equality, diversity, and inclusion for both staff and students. We look forward to making further progress in this area.”

Commenting on the award, Fionnuala Power from the Irish Centre for Diversity said, “We would like to congratulate MIC on achieving the Investors in Diversity Bronze Award. Investors in Diversity Bronze is all about helping you build a strong foundation that you can use as a platform to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion into your wider organizational system. It is designed to help get your organisation ready for your unique journey to becoming a diverse and inclusive organization. We look forward to working with MIC as they continue on their journey.”

The Irish Centre for Diversity’s aim is to work in partnership with organizations across Ireland to help them embed equality, diversity, and inclusion in all they do. The Investors in Diversity Awards are supported by IBEC and Dublin City University’s (DCU) Centre of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion.
