Dóchas MidWest Autism are delighted that Guiney’s have agreed to be the partner sponsor of the upcoming Dochas Golf Classic teeing off on 26 & 27 April at Ballyneety Golf Club, a pre-qualifier event for the JP McManus 2020 Pro-Am. The goal of the Golf Classic is to raise funds for the completion of the Dóchas MidWest Autism Centre on Parnell Street, significantly increasing the number of children and young adults who can access services at the centre.

This follows on from a highly successful Autism Awareness Day on 2nd April, when Guiney’s hosted the Limerick 95 FMs afternoon show from their store & generously donated 10% of their Super Tuesday sales to Dóchas Midwest Autism.

Guiney’s have agreed to be the partner sponsor with Dochas MidWest Autism for the upcoming Dóchas Golf Classic at Ballyneety Golf Club, a pre-qualifier event for the JP McManus 2020 Pro-Am.

Deirdre Power, centre manager of Dóchas MidWest Autism said, “It is fantastic to have Guiney’s come on board as our flagship sponsor for our Golf Classic, Guiney’s ongoing support has been hugely beneficial for our charity & our members in driving awareness of Autism in the MidWest Region.”

Alison Stubbins, General Manager of Guiney’s said, “We are delighted to continue our support of Dóchas MidWest Autism, the energy & enthusiasm generated in our store on Autism Awareness Day was fantastic! It is an important part of Guiney’s company philosophy to give back to the community, we are proud to be the Corporate partner for the Dóchas’ golf pre-qualifier event.”

Dóchas MidWest Autism Support is a registered charity established in 1997 to support the needs of children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the MidWest. The charity hosts supervised social clubs for children with Autism to develop their communication and social interaction skills.  Dochas also currently provides music therapy, toddler groups and a parent support group for its members.

Dóchas is not a service provider. Their role is to ensure that the best and most appropriate support, practical help and knowledge is made available to families of all people with autism. They are responsible for the set-up of Red Hill School in Patrickswell, and various respites. 70 families are supported by Dóchas, and the organisation hopes to help even more.
