The inaugural Don Reddan Annual Charity Golf Classic, hosted by the Limerick Central Rotary Club on May 5 raised €14,000 in aid of Down Syndrome Limerick
The inaugural Don Reddan Annual Charity Golf Classic, hosted by the Limerick Central Rotary Club on Friday, May 5 in Newcastle West Golf Club, has succeeded in raising €14,000 in aid of Down Syndrome Limerick.
John Kelly, President of Limerick Central Rotary Club, commented, “We were thrilled to launch this annual event to raise vital funds to support charities in Limerick, and were overwhelmed by the support we received. Our sincere thanks to all the teams who played on the day, to our generous sponsors and to Newcastle West Golf Club”.
Over 40 teams teed off on the day, with the team led by Diarmuid Reddan and his brother Cian Reddan taking home first prize.
Ellen Tuffy, Chairperson of Down Syndrome Limerick said, “We are so honoured and grateful to have been selected as this year’s beneficiary for the inaugural Don Reddan Annual Charity Golf Classic.
“Thanks to Ger Lynch and all at Limerick Central Rotary for organising such a wonderful day which not only raised an amazing amount of money for us but gave us the opportunity to talk about the work that we do and the importance of the charity to our children.
“This money will be put to great use including Speech and Language Therapy, as well as providing social activities such as youth club and drama classes for our teen and adult members. A huge thanks also to all the sponsors and golfers who supported the event. It was a really memorable day”.
