Down Syndrome Limerick rang in the New Year with a stylish celebratory event at the Savoy Hotel bringing supporters, families, and members together for a positive start to 2026

Down Syndrome Limerick welcomed the New Year with a stylish event at The Savoy Hotel in Limerick City which brought together families, supporters, and members to mark a positive start to 2026.
The event was an opportunity for the group to acknowledge a successful 2025, which included a number of events, including the Tour de Munster and Sean Kelly Three Counties Cycle. The event kick-started the year for the group with strong attendance and support shown once again through a raffle and auction held on the evening.
Down Syndrome Limerick shared their gratitude on social media, saying, “We had the privilege of ringing in the New Year last night at The Savoy Hotel, Limerick. And what a night we had! Huge thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us last night and to everyone who supported our raffle or auction.”
The group highlighted the efforts of event organisers, Sarah, Michelle, Louise, and Ellen who worked with the Savoy Hotel team to ensure the night was a success.
Also in attendance on the evening was the recently announced Down Syndrome Limerick ambassador, Andrew Brace. The internationally renowned IRFU referee was unveiled as an ambassador in October 2025, with the role officially launching at the New Year’s Eve Ball.

Event organisers welcomed Andrew Brace as well as highlighting the words shared by DSL member Conor McGrath, “It was a fantastic honour to have our wonderful ambassador, Andrew Brace, with us last night, who demonstrated his off-pitch talents with the electric fiddle! Thanks to DSL member Conor McGrath for delivering a wonderful speech about the importance of DSL and the work it does.”
Guests were warmly hosted by Ronan Branigan and his team at The Savoy Hotel, with special thanks extended to Jane, Chloe, Ryan and Jacinta, with entertainment provided by Chris Walshe of Hippo Events and the evening was captured by Ollie Phillips’ photography.
Down Syndrome Limerick endeavours to support families and individuals with Down Syndrome throughout their life, through a range of Social, Education and Development activities to help improve their lives and assist them in reaching their full potential.
