Tait House Community Enterprise based in Southill has announced that they will host a Circular Economy Academy Clinic on October 8th.

A first of its kind for Limerick, the clinic will be delivered by Dr Sarah Miller from the Rediscovery Centre, a Dublin-based creative movement connecting people, ideas and resources to support greener low-carbon living.
This interactive group session will include an introduction to design thinking, an overview of the Rediscovery Centre’s social enterprise journey and a Q&A. The event will also be an opportunity to network with like-minded organisations.
Dr Sarah Miller said: “The circular economy will play a key role in tackling climate breakdown as we prepare to meet the ambitious targets as outlined in the Climate Action Plan. We believe that social enterprises and sustainable Irish businesses have a key role to play in reaching those targets.
“We are encouraging social enterprises and community groups throughout Ireland to get in touch to see how we can work together on activities that will create a more sustainable, low-carbon future,” she added.
Dr Sarah Miller is a qualified environmental scientist with a degree in biotechnology, a Masters in Business Administration and over 20 years’ experience in enterprise development.
Miller established the Rediscovery Centre as a small research and education centre in 2005. The Centre has now grown to develop four successful social enterprises, Rediscover Fashion, Rediscover Paint, Rediscover Cycling and Rediscover Furniture.
During the clinic, participants will get an insight into a number of successful funding models and other support services available for social enterprises.
Tracey Lynch, CEO of Tait House Community Enterprise, said: “As Ireland moves towards the delivery of the Climate Action Plan, there is a growing focus on adopting Circular Economy principles and how we transition to a low carbon, sustainable living. Having recently signed an MOU with the Rediscovery centre we are excited what the future will hold for this Partnership”.
“The Circular Economy Clinic will be a fantastic opportunity for participants to explore opportunities for social enterprise development and support. It will be of particular interest to anyone interested in developing new enterprises, or diversifying operations within an established organisation”, she added.
The Limerick clinic on October 8th will include a ‘Discovery’ session identifying opportunities and exploring business ideas as the best entry point for your circular economy journey. After the group session, one to one meetings with Sarah will be available. These meetings can be booked once you have registered for the clinic.
