Dylan Flynn & The Dead Poets make songs that come from the heart. The Limerick group are aiming for pure communication – surging Indie-Rock that comes with a pop openness, their widescreen yet down-to-earth musicality has a viral appeal, yet remains DIY in origin.

2025 saw the band self-produce and release their new EP and take on their biggest shows to date – selling-out rooms across the UK & Ireland on their headline November tour. Over 5 million streams later, support slots with the likes of Kingfishr, Maroon 5 & Bastille, and a year packed full of sold-out shows, has shown that these lads are ones to watch.

At times they recall the buster of The War On Drugs, or the vitality carried by Gang Of Youths; there’s a nod to Radiohead’s raw emotion, or Springsteen’s surging passion – with their songs speaking to twenty-somethings living in a country that completely ignores them.

The band have spent most of 2026 writing & recording new music but started the year off strong by securing a live agent at 13 Artists (Arctic Monkeys, Blossoms, Inhaler) and signing a record deal with Nettwerk Music Group (Flyte, The Paper Kites, Paris Paloma).

It’s been almost 12 months since the band released new music but they garnered a hype around them that is hard to ignore. Their most recent releases saw them land spins on BBC Introducing, Radio X, RTE 2FM & Today FM, while also being featured on the cover of two Spotify playlists. Their music has appeared in blogs such as Clash, Atwood Magazine, The Thin Air & Hot Press.

Part of a wave of energy within Irish music, the band have been nurtured within a close-knit creative community – yet are unafraid to speak with a singular voice.

After a summer filled with outdoor shows and festivals in both Ireland & UK, Dylan Flynn & The Dead Poets now turn to the release of their new highly anticipated single, ‘Piece Of The Sky’, out on the 14th of August.

‘Piece Of The Sky’ is a song about two lovers on opposite sides of the world. Both questioning their decision to be apart, they are ultimately searching for a way to close the gap between them – both physically and emotionally. The track sees the band leaning into a more rock driven sound, with pulsing bass, raucous guitars, and driving drums. It’s not a total departure for the band though, as Flynn’s powerful vocal and soaring sax lines make this one feel like an instant classic for the Limerick outfit.

“If I could take a piece of the sky and put it inside of my room/Then I could see the whole world, but I wouldn’t be with you.”

Flynn said, “I was in a long-distance relationship for quite some time. When you are separated like that, you spend a lot of time reflecting on the time you spent together, and that wears on you more than anything. The nostalgia and memories that you hold so dearly, are the thing that eat you up the most.”

Every release from the band up until now has been self-produced, but this track was recorded/produced/mixed by Richie Kennedy (The Murder Capital, Cliffords, Brògeal, Cardinals) in Perry Vale Studios in London, and was mastered by Richard Dowling (Foo Fighters, Brian Eno, Villagers) of WAV Mastering, Limerick.
