JP Mc Manus Student Design Competition; ‘Design a lapel pin’ is a new category in the Going for Gold initiative where students are invited to design a lapel pin that instils pride in Limerick.

The competition, with a prize fund of €7,500, is open to primary, secondary and third level students. The winning design will be produced into a gold plated lapel pin that will be used to promote Limerick and highlight the Going for Gold campaign.

Commenting on the new category, Mr Gerry Boland, Director of the JP McManus Charitable Foundation said; “Going for Gold is a great initiative that has proved hugely successful in bringing communities and businesses together to help clean up Limerick. The launch of this new category is an extension of the campaign which will encourage the young people of Limerick to be part of yet another positive step towards improving our city. We hope that many students will participate and we look forward to seeing their artistic creations in the form of a lapel pin.”
