Eddie Costelloe, from Moyross won half a million Euros in Friday night’s EuroMillions Plus draw. He did the EuroMillions Quick Pick at his local Circle K filling station, in Thomondgate. He works for Nightline delivering parcels and took the position after his work as a taxi driver dried up during the coronavirus lockdown. He paid tribute to his late mother Helen for persuading him to chase his dream of one day winning the lottery. He celebrated his win at a party in the Greenhills Hotel afterwards. He currently lives in a council house in Cliona Park and plans to purchase it with his winnings as well as a holiday home in Lanzarote.

Eddie is married to Antoinette and has two kids, Cian, 5, and Megan, 9 said he plans to continue working in his job delivering parcels and stay in his current home saying, “We love Moyross, we were born and raised here and plan to stay here. The big win has still not yet sunk in and it is a dream come through.” Kindhearted Eddie is an uncle of Munster star Keith Earls and he plans to help a campaign to build a unit to tackle mental health issues in Moyross.

The winning numbers from last night’s EuroMillions Plus draw are: 11, 12, 15, 32 and 44.

The winning quick pick ticket was sold at a Circle K filling station down the road from Thomond Park rugby stadium.

The store is located between the stadium and Thomond Bridge over the River Shannon.

This is the 19th EuroMillions Plus top prize of half a million won in Ireland so far this year, with all 19 winners sharing €9.5m on this game alone.

“We are appealing to all EuroMillions players in Limerick, specifically those who maybe stopped in the Thomondgate area for fuel yesterday, to check those tickets very carefully,” said a spokesperson for the National Lottery.

“If you have matched all five of the above numbers contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize.”

There was no winner of the jackpot of €38,953,665, but more than 57,000 players in Ireland won prizes, said the National Lottery.

Congrats to Eddie and his family.
