“An Evening of Flavour & Fun” with well-known celebrity chef Edward Hayden, takes place next week on Thursday, 27th March 2025 at the Longcourt House Hotel in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.

Edward is a familiar face on television and has a regular cookery slot on Virgin Media’s Ireland AM.  He is renowned for his engaging, lively cookery demonstrations that combine delicious, accessible recipes with plenty of humour and charm. His upcoming cookery demonstration promises to be a fun-filled, interactive evening for anyone who enjoys cooking or simply loves good food and great company!

Throughout the evening, Edward will demonstrate how to prepare a number of dishes that collectively make a mouth-watering menu.  This includes Spiced Shoulder of Lamb with Redcurrant Gravy, Fragrant Salmon with Braised Rice and Cucumber & Yogurt Dressing, Spicy Chicken & Chorizo Pasta, Orange & Almond Cake and Chocolate & Coffee Pots.  Each member of the audience will receive a written copy of all the showcased recipes so they can recreate Edward’s delicious dishes at home and Ron Forrestal from Forrestal Wine Merchants will also be on hand to expertly recommend a selection of wines to complement Edward’s dishes.

But the evening isn’t just about cooking — market stalls from local producers and craftspeople will be set up from 7.00pm, offering guests the chance to browse a variety of goods before the main event kicks off at 8.00pm. Stallholders include chocolatier Braw, the award-winning Kearney’s Home Bakery, Springfield Castle, O’Brien’s Honey, and Cocoon Crystals.  Plus, there will be a fantastic tombola of prizes up for grabs, generously donated by local businesses.

Speaking ahead of the event, Edward Hayden said, “I am so looking forward to this cookery demo and to meeting the people in attendance. It’s sure to be a mix of good fun and good food, and people will leave (hopefully) fully inspired to return to the stove!”

Tickets are €25 per person and are available now from Courtenay National School Office, Longcourt House Hotel Reception, Sonas Healthfoods (The Square, Newcastle West), and Eventbrite (booking fee applies). A limited number of tickets may be available at the door on the night, subject to availability.
