Run on a voluntary basis, Elemental Festival takes the whole year to plan and deliver. Elemental has built a reputation for delivering a high-quality, fun, inclusive festival, with community, heritage and the arts in all their guises at its core. Taking place citywide, Elemental Festival will be taking to the streets, shops, cafes, galleries and theatres of Limerick, with a programme offering something for everyone. Last year, Elemental had the honour of  winning Gold in its category for Best Promotional Brochure at the IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards, a professional competition draws entries from among the world’s top festivals and events.

Alan Hogan, co-founder of Elemental Festival, says: “There are substantial costs involved in running such a varied programme at numerous venues citywide. We spend most of the year trying to access funding from multiple sources, to cover those costs. Having the backing of the Arts Council takes away some of that pressure.”

Jennifer Allen, co-founder, continues: “The funding itself is hugely helpful, naturally, but getting such a significant national endorsement is really gratifying too. In such a competitive funding stream, it’s proof that we’re doing something right!”

The three-day arts and culture festival will take place citywide from the September 8 to 10. Everyone is encouraged to get involved
