Embody Fitness Limerick Offering Postnatal Classes

Emma Cross Ryan, founder of Embody Fitness Limerick has recently set up a large selection of Mum and Baby classes. These classes are a fantastic outlet for mums to come out each week, meet other mums and get an exercise class in which helps with lots of mental health issues connected with postnatal.

Emma and her husband, Wayne went through a difficult time eight months ago after Emma gave birth prematurely to her son, Mark who had to recover in the neonatal unit in the University Maternity Hospital Limerick. Since then she has held an Embody Fitness event in aid of the neonatal unit, which was a huge success. Emma realised from speaking to other mums there was so much out there for young babies but very few activities out there for sleep-deprived, postnatal mums. Emma also organises mum and baby coffee mornings at her own cost to get mums together in the area.

Carol, a co-worker of Emma’s said, “Since working in Embody with Emma she had run numerous events to raise money for the Neo Unit and continues to look for ways to support them and the local Mums. The group of mums and babies are so special to Emma because she sees and knows how hard it is for mums sometimes and getting out, chatting and exercising is sometimes all they need. It’s her mission to continue to grow the mum and baby community through events, coffee mornings and affordable classes. She is an amazing boss to me and would to see her celebrated and the mums of limerick to see what’s available to them.”

Emma has introduced a mum and baby class schedule for all the mums out there that are feeling down, isolated and that are unable to get out due to childcare costs. Some of the classes include Babies and Spin, TRX and Babies and Barre n Babies. Barre is a combo of Ballet inspired moves, yoga and Pilates.

On Saturday, August 3 at 10 am Emma has organised an incredible event on Kilkee beach called “Beach Barre”. All of these vital funds will go to the Mid-Western Neonatal unit.

Carol concluded, “It is amazing walking into the studios and seeing 25 buddies and mums doing a barre class with all the babies chilling out watching.”

The Mum and Baby classes take place in Embody Fitness Studios in Castletroy shopping centre Monday to Friday and only cost €5 or €30 for six weeks. For further information contact Embody Limerick on 086 858 9228 or 086 862 0069.
