Emily Panter unveils debut EP, ‘Remember They Love You’, announcing a listen party at Commercial Bar on Friday, April 18

Emerging artist Emily Panter is set to release her debut EP, “Remember They Love You,” with Limerick’s SASP Records, a profound exploration of memory, childhood influences, and the complexities of adult life.
Drawing inspiration from cherished family holiday soundtracks, family road trips, paddling in rock pools and the bittersweet reality of growing up, this collection of songs promises to resonate with anyone who has ever felt the pull of nostalgia amidst life’s struggles.
The EP is a poetic journey that intertwines the joyous memories of youth with the weight of adult anxieties, presenting a sonic landscape that is both reflective and uplifting.
“These songs revolve around trying to navigate challenges with mental and physical health whilst growing up,” shares Panter.
“But it’s not all darkness; there are moments of joy and persistence in the face of it all. Songs like ‘Burn Till Brand New’ encapsulate happy places we carry with us, while ‘Birds and the Bees’ speaks to the enduring spirit of nature and human endeavour.”
The EP’s lead single, “Remember They Love You,” highlights the joy of friendship and the importance of external support.
As Panter puts it, “This track serves as a reminder that we are never truly alone, despite what we tell ourselves, there is always light to be found in the connections we have created, but it is important to reach out and to remember that sharing and asking for help is not being a burden.”
Musically, the EP leans heavily on dark and distorted guitar riffs with Ghostly, dreamy vocals featuring throughout.
The music is infused with influences of 80s artists that Panter grew up with such as Duran Duran, Dire Straits, and Don Henley, “This is music gifted to me by my parents, but now coming through me” Other influences that Panter picked up along the way including 90’s shoegaze, grunge and psychedelic rock, also permeate the music.
Describing the sonic aesthetic, Panter notes, “when asked about the genre I often panic and describe the music as ‘Boys of Summer’ but underwater—a sound that captures both the melancholic and joyous moments of life, memories that are still there but wavy and decaying.”
This artistic endeavour is more than just music; it’s a relatable tale that many will find comfort in. Panter’s ability to express vulnerability while celebrating resilience makes this EP an essential listen for anyone navigating their own journey.
The EP is set to be released on April 18th and will be available on all major streaming platforms. To celebrate the launch, Emily Panter will be hosting a listen party at icon Commercial Bar, Limerick on April 18.
