The family of Jason Corbett has announced that the Netflix documentary ‘A Deadly American Marriage’ has been nominated for an Emmy and is a ‘meaningful recognition of the importance of telling Jason Corbett’s story’

‘A Deadly American Marriage’, a Netflix documentary telling the story of Limerick’s Jason Corbett and his family, has been nominated for an Emmy award, Jason’s family has shared.

The documentary has been shortlisted in the ‘Outstanding Crime and Justice Documentary’ category, and Jason’s family have shared their pride of having been nominated for the prestigious award, saying it is a “meaningful recognition of the importance of telling Jason Corbett’s story with honesty, dignity and care”.

On social media, Jason’s Journey, dedicated to sharing the memory of the late Limerick man, run by Jason’s family, said, “This nomination is a meaningful recognition of the importance of telling Jason Corbett’s story with honesty, dignity and care. It reflects not only the power of documentary storytelling, but also the importance of continuing to raise awareness around truth, justice, loss and the lifelong impact of violence on families.

“For all those who have supported Jason’s story over the years, and for everyone who has stood with Jack, Sarah and Jason’s family in the pursuit of truth, this moment carries deep meaning.

“We extend our sincere thanks to all those who have supported, and continue to support, the pursuit of truth and justice, and to the filmmakers and all involved in bringing this documentary to an international audience.”

The documentary was based on books by Jason’s sister, Tracey Corbett-Lynch, and daughter, Sarah Corbett-Lynch, and brought his story to an international audience when it was released on Netflix in May 2025.

Joining A Deadly American Marriage in the same category are ‘Aileen: Queen of Serial Killers’, produced by Netflix, BBC Studios, and NBC News Studios; ‘The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer’ by ABC News Studios; ‘No Justice, Just Kills’ by BBC Select; ‘Oklahoma City Bombing: American Terror’ by Netflix; and ‘The Strike — Independent Lens’ by Latino Public Broadcasting.
