EMPOWER has been designed by LIT & Mary Immaculate College together with advisors in the business including young entrepreneurs, academia, national and global youth organizations, teachers, investors, incubation, and acceleration teams and informed by some of the best models globally.

The 5-day EMPOWER Summer Programme, which is funded by the HEA, is being run collaboratively between MIC and LIT in both their Limerick and Tipperary Campuses and onsite in local industries in the region. The Limerick camp runs from July 23 to 27.

The delivery and content of the camps are designed to answer the vision and goals set out in “Ireland’s National Skills Strategy 2025” and the “Action Plan for Education 2017” in preparing students in developing 21st-century transferable skills. The camps aim to promote innovation, communication, personal effectiveness, critical and creative thinking, and working with others, which are prioritised in the Framework for Junior and Senior Cycle Education through a variety of inquiry-based, student-centred, teaching and learning pedagogies focusing on observations and opening their eyes to the world around them; listening and empathy; social awareness and; problem solving.

The event is supported by the HEA, Foroige, Junior Achievement Ireland, ISAX and your Local Enterprise Offices in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary along with partners LIT & MIC who are jointly running the programme.

The EMPOWER Summer Programme is for any second level/ postprimary level students in Transition Year, 5th or 6th year. Places are limited to 30 students are a week. Registration is via Eventbrite.
