Enable Ireland is appealing to artists to donate art pieces inspired by our wild Atlantic coast for their upcoming charity auction/sale.

The national charity is holding an online art sale in November and is seeking donations from artists based along Ireland’s Atlantic way in the counties of Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal. Pieces created by artists based outside of this area (that are related to the Atlantic coast) are also welcome.

Enable Ireland provides disability services to over 9,000 children and adults across Ireland. Their fundraising income has been severely impacted due to COVID 19, and the art sale will help to raise urgent funds to support their vital disability services.

The art sale will help to raise urgent funds to support Enable Ireland’s vital disability services.

Sean Scally, Enable Ireland Community Fundraiser, says: “We hope that the event will promote and celebrate the natural beauty of Ireland’s west coast that has inspired so many artists, whilst also raising vital funds to support our services.”

The art sale will take place online on Monday 16 November 2020. Full details for the sale will be published HERE. A number of artists have already donated pieces inspired by the rugged coastlines of Kerry, Galway and Clare.

If you are an artist, or if you know someone that can donate a piece of art, please contact Sean in Enable Ireland’s Fundraising Team on 087 760 9768, or via email at [email protected].

In Limerick, Enable Ireland supports children with disabilities through their Children’s Early Intervention & School Age services from Blackberry Park, in partnership with the HSE. They also provide family support and respite services to children with disabilities in the Midwest. They have a day service for over 50 adults with disabilities at their centres in Quinn’s Cross, Mungret and Castleconnell.

About Enable Ireland:

Founded in 1948, Enable Ireland provides services for 9,200 children and adults with disabilities and their families in 15 counties.

Their services for children and their families cover all aspects of a child’s physical, educational, and social development from early infancy through adolescence.

They offer a range of services to adults with disabilities which include daycare, training, personal development, supported and independent living, and social and leisure activities.

The demand for their services continues to increase throughout Ireland. They have set themselves the challenging goal of meeting these needs by providing a full range of high-quality services and expanding into local communities.

Enable Ireland is part-funded by the State. Every year they require over €2 million in additional funding to meet the costs of delivering their services. Without this additional income from their shops and fundraising, they would not be able to meet the needs of the children and their families relying on their services.
