Eoin started his meal preparation service Country Munch at the age of 18
Limerick’s very own TV chef, Eoin Sheehan has recently announced his role as campaign ambassador for Bord Bia’s three year EU and industry funded campaign, Life is Better with Fruit and Vegetables.
The campaign is largely focused on encouraging millennials to prepare healthy meals and live a healthier lifestyle, using sustainably sourced, fresh, locally grown, in season produce and increase their fruit and vegetable intake. Eoin’s social media presence of over 20,000 will be hugely beneficial to the campaign, inspiring foodies and young people across Ireland with a range of his fruit and vegetable recipes full of delicious flavours and spices.
Born and raised in Limerick, Eoin started his meal preparation service Country Munch at the age of 18. Now 25, Eoin has grown the business from strength to strength to produce meals for teams within Limerick GAA circles, Munster Rugby and other sports teams across Ireland. Country Munch also acts as an online ordering service for people in Limerick. Eoin showcases simple, healthy meals on his social media platforms and has become a resident chef on Virgin Media One Six O Clock Show.
Speaking of his new role as a campaign ambassador, Eoin said: “I am so excited to become an ambassador for the Life is Better with Fruit and Vegetables campaign with Bord Bia. Ireland offers a huge range of fruit and vegetables in its normal growing season.
Fresh, locally sourced produce contains more nutrients and has better taste in dishes. I can’t wait to get stuck in!”
Eoin will be joined by Campaign ambassadors and Instagram influencers Kwanghi Chan, the Gastrogays and Rachel Hornibrook who will also partner with Bord Bia to create recipes and content to inspire millennials. Eoin recently joined Bord Bia in their first campaign appearance at Body and Soul music festival this month in County Westmeath. He joined them in sampling some locally produced in-season strawberries from the local Stamullen, Co. Meath based strawberry grower Pat Clarke at their stall, providing key tips on how to eat healthier and more sustainably. The Life is Better campaign runs from March 2022 to February 2025 and is implemented by Bord Bia – the Irish Food Board in Ireland, Interfel and AIB in France, and Freshfel across Europe.
