There were many proud faces of Erin for her charitable work.

Erin Guest from Monaleen, Limerick made a very brave and selfless decision to donate her long hair to the Rapunzel Foundation in the June of this year, in which she received a thank you card in return. She got her hair cut at Revas Spa, Adare, where she was spoiled by staff for her compassion.

Since June, Erin has been fundraising for Milford Care Centre in memory of her late Grandfather, Martin Guest, and ended up raising over €3500.

Erin presented Melissa Purcell, from the fundraising department at Milford Care Centre with the cheque of €3547.26, last Friday, September 30.

Erin’s first time ever cutting her hair was for the Rapunzel Foundation.

Elaine Cosgrave, Erin’s mother, said, “Erin was looking forward to the evening for so long & we were delighted of the opportunity and to have both Grannies with us to share the day. It’s been such a great experience for Erin and the whole family.”

Erin has set a great example and has made everyone very proud with her bravery and charitable work. Well done, Erin!

Erin’s hair is a big part of her life and she has never cut it.

9-year-old Erin Guest from Monaleen is taking the leap and cutting her long locks on Saturday, June 18 to raise funds for Milford Care Centre.

Erin’s hair is a big part of her life and she has never cut it. A huge part of her identity, the primary school student enjoys trying different styles and playing around with it.

However, a few months ago, Erin decided she was going to cut it all off and donate it to the Rapunzel Foundation, which helps provide wigs to people who have lost their hair through sickness.

As well as donating her hair, Erin has also chosen to fundraise for Milford Care Centre, a cause very close to her heart. Two years ago, the little girl lost her grandfather Martin, but the family could not hold a proper funeral due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The staff at Milford Care Centre were excellent in helping Erin’s grandfather and her family during such a difficult time, and now Erin would like to say thanks to the staff for taking care of Martin.

All funds raised from Erin’s fundraiser will go directly to Milford Care Centre, while her hair will be donated to the Rapunzel Foundation.

Fundraising will take place until the day of the big cut on Saturday, June 18, and so far Erin has raised €2,840 out of her €3,000 goal.

Any donations to the fundraiser would be greatly appreciated and will give Erin the encouragement she needs for her big change.
