Esker Festival Orchestra 2015 will host concerts throughout Ireland

The Esker Festival Orchestra 2015, which was established in 2014, was formed to provide a high quality, beneficial and meaningful musical opportunity for young emerging musicians from all across Ireland. Esker is unique in that its members come from all over the country to play and socialise together, without financial burden. The orchestra provides a platform for musicians to participate in an orchestra where they otherwise may have not had the opportunity. This summer Esker Festival is building on the success of its debut year by playing five concerts around the country. They will be performing Sibelius’ Second Symphony, Dvorak’s Cello Concerto, with rising star Yseult Cooper Stockdale as soloist and the world premiere of ‘The Space Inside’ by young Irish composer Robert Colman. The orchestra is conducted by Peter Joyce and led by Hugh Murray.

Esker Festival Orchestra 2015 includes concert dates, such as: Wed, July 8 1pm show, a free outdoor concert of film music in Galway City, in collaboration with the Galway Film Fleadh. Fri, July 10 at 1pm, will host a lunchtime concert in Aula Maxima in NUI Galway. Later that evening on Fri, July 10 at 8pm there will also be a concert at the Redemptorists Church on the South Circular Rd in Limerick.

A concert will be held in the Curtis Auditorium on Union Quay, Cork, on Sat July 11 at 8pm, in association with Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) School of Music.

Finally, St. Ann’s Church, Dawson St. in Dublin 2 will host the last concert of the festival, on Sun July 12 at 7pm.

All tickets are €12 / €8 and available at the door of each concert. For further queries, please email: [email protected] or call at: 0864006278.
