Estuary Rollers Light Up Christmas Run will be taking place on Sunday, December 5

The Estuary Rollers are holding their Light Up Christmas Tractor Run on Sunday, December 5.

The run will start from Listowel Livestock Mart at 4pm and will travel through towns across North Kerry and West Limerick.

The run is open to 40KPH tractors only, and cost of entering a tractor is €25.

The Estuary Rollers Committee, consisting of Kieran Hynes, Laura Lavery, Patrick Scanlon, Sean Foley, John O’Brien, Trish Kavanagh, Nicolas Cregan, Mike Fitzgerald, James O’Brien and Dylan O’Connor, have chosen to support the Milford Care Centre and Friends of St Ita’s for this year’s run.

Due to Covid-19, they are unable to sell tickets for their usual raffle, so instead they have decided to set up a Go Fund Me to allow people to donate to the Milford Care Centre and Friends of St Ita’s safely.

Both of these organisations are very close to the hearts of the committee members and have touched the lives of many families and friends in the surrounding parishes.

Milford Care Centre was first established by the Little Company of Mary Sisters in 1928 and provides multiple services such as Hospice at Home, a Nursing Home, Day Care for older people and those with palliative care needs, as well as Bereavement Support for families.

The centre aims to provide the highest quality of care to their patients and residents, as well as their family and friends, both in the areas of palliative care and services to the older person.

They strive to live to their core values of justice, compassion, respect, communication, and accountability.

The Friends of St Ita’s Community Hospital, Newcastle West, was launched in 2003 as a voluntary fundraising group tasked with assisting management in the implementation of projects they were unable to get off the ground due to a lack of funding.

They raised over €1 million for a new hospice unit as well as €200,000 for a new dayroom, €64,000 for a patient minibus and much more for other essential equipment for patients.

The Estuary Rollers would very much appreciate your support and greatly appreciate any donations.
