The Lime Tree Theatre is delighted to have Sir Michael Parkinson coming to their theatre on September 30. Tickets will cost €25 and the show will commense at 8pm.

Sir Michael Parkinson is a well known english broadcaster, journalist and author. He is best known for presenting his long-running television talk show “Parkinson’. This show ran between the years 1971-1982 and again between 1998-2007 and was shown in both the UK and internationally.

The ‘Evening with Sir Michael Parkinson’ boasts that it will be an unique opportunity to get an intimate, entertaining and informative look at his amazing journey from a journalist for local newspapers to to having his own talk-show.

Sir Michael Parkinson has been in the journalism business over 50 years and in the course of his career has interviewed over 2,000 of the most important cultural figures of the twentieth and twenty-first century. He has stated previously that the most interesting person that he has ever interviewed was Muhammad Ali and regrets not having interviewed people like Frank Sinatra and Sir Donald Bradman.

Sir Michael Parkinson’s son will ask questions and Sir Michael will chat about all his experiences over the last 50 years to the audience, this will be helped by visuals from the Saturday evening.

He has won awards for journalism, radio and television broadcasting. He is president of the Sports Journalist’s Association. In April 2006, Parkinson was awarded Honorary Patronage of the University Philosophical Society (Trinity College, Dublin).

The Lime Tree Theatre isn’t allowing late comers allowed to come in after the show commences. There’s no exchanges or refunds. Wheelchair spaces need to be booked over the phone. There is limited parking available for patrons so people are encouraged to arrive early in order to find a parking space.
