Friends of Lace Limerick, in collaboration with Limerick Museum will host the Amazing Lace conference series.
The 2025 edition of the Amazing Lace Symposium will take place at the Absolute Hotel on Saturday 22nd February 2025, from 10am to 5pm.
The keynote speaker this year will be Italian lace designer and teacher extraordinaire Paola Mateucci, who is specialised in ricamo su tulle (embroidery on net), a technique that appears quite similar to Limerick lace.
The keynote speech and a series of short talks will take place in the morning, and lace-making workshops in various traditions in the afternoon.
This event is supported by Limerick City and County Council through the Festivals and Events scheme, the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland through the Network Support Scheme, and the Creative Ireland through the Creative Communities on a Shared Island programme.
