Edible Artifacts – Oícheanta ag Músaem an Hunt | Hunt Museum Nights

July 23 @ 6:00 PM 8:00 PM

Oícheanta ag Músaem an Hunt | Hunt Museum Nights programme is a series of evening events that invite audiences to engage with the museum’s collections through conversation, creativity and shared social experiences.

Luncheonette is a long term art project centred around hospitality and food, started by Jennie Moran in 2013. It is a prolonged exploration into the complex alchemy of placemaking, centred around the provision of shared experiences using nourishment, shelter, comfort, warmth, light, and tone to treat places so that they feel easier for people to be in and more poetic.

A ‘luncheonette’ is a light-on-its-feet food station. It is flexible and adaptable and can even move from place to place to serve its purpose in different contexts, for different reasons.

For its iteration at the Hunt Museum, ‘Edible Artifacts’ is a workshop which celebrates our beautiful everyday food heritage; the customs, recipes, rituals which form the poetry of our survival.

Potluck element!

Because the workshop takes place at tea time participants are invited/asked(!) to bring along a snack for the group.

This workshop is in response to the vessels and utensils shown across the two exhibitions (Our Óir Ore: Four Millennia of Silver & Gold and the Contemporary Ceramics).
