Friends of the Hunt Museum Lunchtime Lecture – ‘Buildings of Georgian Dublin’

Join Donough Cahill, Executive Director of the Irish Georgian Society, for an insightful overview of the development and expansion of Dublin during the Georgian period.

In this lecture, Cahill will explore the city’s architectural evolution, focusing on its iconic public buildings, aristocratic residences, and elegant residential streets and squares. He will examine how private estates and public institutions shaped the city’s layout, many of which remain integral to Dublin’s identity today. Cahill will also highlight landmark structures that continue to define Dublin’s civic character, offering a deeper understanding of the city’s historical and architectural significance.
