Please note the following:
This non-rated fun event is open to chess players and members of the public. Players MUST know the Rules of chess and be able to play with a chess clock. The tournament will be held outdoors in the museum rear garden. Number of entries is limited to 16.
The final will be played on the giant chess board, weather permitting.
There will be a chess Arbiter(Neal Kirby) who will do the pairings(random) for each round. The Arbiter’s decision is final for any disputes.
Anyone coming more than 15 minutes late for the start time for the round will lose by default.
If a game ends in a draw, the players will play a 5 minutes a side blitz game to decide the winner.
Sets & clocks are provided at venue by the Limerick chess club.
Time limit: 20 minutes each player for all moves.
