As part of the Joyce Brothers Music Festival 2024, renowned musicians Steve Cooney, Dermot Byrne and Brid Haper will perform for a star studded traditional concert.
Steve Cooney is best known for his development of an influential style of guitar accompaniment to traditional Irish dance music which he developed in West Kerry, and for which he won the National Entertainment Award with Séamus Begley in 1997. Bríd Harper is regarded as one of the leading Irish traditional fiddle players of the last forty years. Dermot is also considered to be one of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians having been awarded the Irish Television station, TG4’s Traditional Musician of the Year 2013.
Steve, Brid and Dermot will be joined by other regular performers at the festival including Derek Hickey, TG4 musician of the year 2024, Caoimhín O’Fearghaill and Liam O’Connor, Joyce expert and director of the Irish Traditional Music Archive.
