DIY LK presents the first annual Feile Na Carthanas in aid of Limerick Suicide Watch, which will take place at Dolans this month.

Feile Na CarthanasDIY LK the music collective which has taken the city by storm will finish out the year in a night of celebration of loud, creative music from Limerick city, all in the name of an important local charity, Limerick Suicide Watch, a frontline services group whose main focus is to keep eyes on the river, identify and provide support to those in distress who may be contemplating suicide.

DIY LK is a Limerick city-based independent music collective formed in 2017. The main aim is to create and grow a DIY music community in Limerick based around young, local acts who are trying to push boundaries and find an audience.

DIY LK organise and promote gigs of all types and sizes; from small acoustic coffee shop nights to multi-band punk rock shows or even the odd house performance.

The lineup for Feile Na Carthanas which translates to the charity festival, features Anna’s Anchor (Full Band) who are just back from a tour of the States, Cruiser who just released their debut album and Van Panther, electro-indie dynamites!

Feile Na Carthanas will take place on Saturday, December 16 from 9 pm to 11 pm at Kasbah Social Club, Dolans.

Tickets can be bought online at dolans.ie for €8 or at the door if any are left for €10.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
