Polina tells the public this is a show not to be missed, saying, “There’s going to be mystical giant birds. There’s going to be a fire performance, beings from other dimensions, you’re going to see floats, people flying through the air. It’s going to be spectacular, don’t miss it!”

Fidget Feet, known as Ireland’s premier aerial dance company, brings their signature high-flying style, performing on cranes, in streets and theatres, working with VolkiDana, a street and spectacle company bringing large-scale visual elements, including puppetry, props and set design, with visual artist Bridget Ní Dhuinn to Limerick City Centre.

‘The Song of Amairgen’ is a FREE show and marks a major highlight of this year’s Riverfest programme and is set to take to the skies behind Redemptorists Church in Limerick City from 9pm.

Commissioned by Limerick City Council for Riverfest and supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, “Lost Dreams” promises a visually striking experience for lucky audiences.

The Song of Amairgen invokes our Celtic myths and legends, filling the air and deepening our universal hearts. Look up as the sky becomes a stage with performers soaring above the Limerick skyline from two towering cranes, suspended an exhilarating 35 metres in the air.

‘The Song of Amairgen is inspired by Celtic mythology and draws from what is believed to be the first Celtic Irish poem ever written. This ancient text forms the creative foundation for the performance, which explores themes of nature, land, people and the Celtic spirit.

Chantal McCormick, Executive Artistic Director at Fidget Feet, told I Love Limerick, “We are so thrilled to be back at the River Fest this year, and this show is full of all the Fidget Feet madness. Two cranes, fireworks, pyros, people hanging off bicycles!

Chantal noted that this year’s performance brings special guests with VolkiDána, saying, “This year we’re collaborating with  VolkiDána, which is a street and fire show. So we’ll have lots of that happening in the show as well. And it’s commissioned by the RiverFest, Limerick City, and County Council, and this year we’ve got funding from the Arts Council as well.”
