This is your chance to become a film extra as MovieExtras.ie are holding Open Casting days in Limerick, Cork, and Galway on February 20 – 22. The company is currently involved in some big international productions including George R.R. Martin’s “Nightflyers”, AMC’s “Into the Badlands” and Ireland’s favourite soap opera “Fair City”. As well as this, they are also involved in several confidential high-profile feature films, lots of adverts and corporate productions.

MovieExtras.ieinvite anyone aged 18 and over of all shapes, sizes, looks, and nationalities to attend the open days and take part.  Absolutely no experience is necessary as MovieExtras.ie will provide training to those who are chosen to become extras. It’s free to register and all work as a film extra is paid. The dates for the open days are as follows:

Cork – Feb 20 – Metropole Hotel from 12 pm to 7 pm

Limerick – Feb 21 – Strand Hotel – 12 pm to 7 pm

Galway – Feb 22 – Hotel Meyrick – 12 pm to 7 pm

Peter Dalton of Movie Extras told I Love Limerick that they are ‘preparing for upcoming productions in the Munster and Connaught area and from our office in Troy Studios, we’ll hopefully be bringing lots of opportunities to get out on set and experience the magic that brings these big productions together.’

He also spoke of what an amazing opportunity the castings would be for anyone who may be interested in acting. ‘We’re currently casting for a number of high profile productions across Ireland with more in the pipeline so it’s a super opportunity for anyone that has ever had an interest in getting onto the set of major film & tv productions. We can’t emphasise enough that no experience is required, although we do welcome people with acting experience as we cater for all levels of experience.’

According to Derek Quinn, Director of MovieExtras.ie, ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for people to have the opportunity to get behind the scenes of major Film, TV and Commercial productions across Ireland and experience the magic of Film & TV.’

Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome to attend the Open Days. Those attending are required to bring their passport on the day.
