Speaking with I Love Limerick, Paul C. Ryan of Film in Limerick said, “It’s just brilliant. More and more people are coming to Limerick to make movies and TV and we’re seeing the benefits of that for businesses, lots of crew hired locally, and all the excitement as well in the city. It’s fantastic.”

Film in Limerick’s Paul C. Ryan said he looks forward to “seeing lots more productions in 2025 in the city”.

Film in Limerick has had a successful period and in 2024 were nominated in the City of Film Category at the Global Film Production Awards at the Cannes Film Festival for their work developing the sector in the region; coming off the back of winning  Makers and Shakers Awards at BAFTA in December 2023, and were also announced as Film Commission of the Year, proving the quality of the industry in Limerick.

Speaking about his role, Paul said, “My job is to market the region to film producers around the world and when we hear about a particular film that might be interested in Ireland, we make sure that Limerick and the region is at the table and we have those conversations.”

He added, “We sell what we have to offer from our crew to our locations, to everything that we can do for a film to bring it in the door. Luckily on this occasion, we were very successful and we managed to win the opportunity for Limerick and and we’re looking forward to seeing lots more productions in 2025 in the city.”

December saw two movies begin their production in Limerick City with “Four Kids Walk Into a Bank” taking to the city streets, and a 1980’s style feature film, ‘One Night Only’, being shot in Limerick City Centre at the Royal Theatre on Cecil Street.
