Film Track, a 3-day showcase of film screenings and talks celebrating independent filmmaking, takes place in Limerick on 23-25 August

Highlights of the weekend include, a screening of locally filmed sci-fi thriller Woken

Film Track is run by Innovate Limerick / Film in Limerick, in partnership with Wired FM, and with support from Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board and the National Talent Academies. Highlights of the weekend include, a screening of locally filmed sci-fi thriller Woken, starring Erin Kellyman and Maxine Peake, an In Conversation event with filmmaker, Tadhg O’Sullivan and a One-Shot Filmmaking competition, with 10 teams filming one-shot mini-masterpieces in the city over the weekend. Limerick City promises to be the place to be for a packed weekend of film experiences.

Paul C. Ryan, Regional Film Manager at Film in Limerick said, “It’s a summer film experience with a difference, welcoming all aspiring and experienced filmmakers and musicians to the city for 3-days of film and fun.

“We have a great programme lined up and all the public events are free to attend. We are delighted to welcome so many industry guests to the city and to work with our partners to put the focus on developing the film sector in the region.”

Film/music crossover events are also planned including a screening of documentary feature, Graceless Age, The Ballad of John Murry, followed by a talk with director Sarah Share and musician John Murry. John Murry will also play live that night at the Record Room.

Film Track also celebrates the work of acclaimed film-maker, sound artist and writer Tadhg O’Sullivan with an in-conversation event and the weekend offers a series of panel events with industry guests sharing their insights with emerging filmmakers and musicians.

Ray Burke, from WIRED FM said: “We are delighted to partner with Film in Limerick to deliver a packed weekend of events. In recent years, we’ve witnessed an incredible array of Irish film and music talent break through, and we have also seen exciting new Irish music documentaries produced.

“One highlight for me of the weekend will be welcoming Sarah Share to Limerick with her beautiful film, The Graceless Ages, a film that eschews traditional approaches to create a work of art on a par with its subject matter. I can’t wait for people to see it and to see John at the Record Room. An event and a weekend not to miss.”
