Fíor Jewellery is making waves with Irish-themed pieces through hard work, creativity, and support from LEO Limerick

Sean Leddin is a 22-year-old Limerick-based entrepreneur.

Sean Leddin, a 22-year-old Limerick-based entrepreneur, has been on a mission since the launch of Fíor Jewellery in August 2022 to bring Irish-heritage-inspired pieces to the market with creative, meaningful, and high-quality jewellery.

Fíor has gained popularity by marketing through social media, with pop-up shops, and its own website, but partnering with the company’s success is the invaluable support received from Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick; playing a key role through its mentorship programme and the supports made available to local entrepreneurs.

Fíor, meaning “true” and “real” in Irish, embodies the spirit of Sean’s brand which aims to be authentic in design and quality as it is crafted from the highest-grade stainless steel and coated in 18k gold. Speaking about the brand, Sean said, “Since launch, it has been our mission to create something minimal but extremely meaningful at the same time. With a true passion for our Irish heritage and language, Fíor, meaning true and real in Irish, epitomizes and co-aligns with our entire brand message of keeping a true sense of home with you at all times.”

The journey from college graduate to full-time entrepreneur is not an easy path, but Sean has been grateful to the help and guidance available to him at Local Enterprise Office Limerick (LEO Limerick), he told I Love Limerick, “Leo Limerick has been great, at the very start, I would have gotten a mentor for three sessions. They would have given me some basic startup advice. Things I need to look out for in terms of accounting and financial planning, things like that. Then down the line, I was fortunate enough to receive the Trading Online Voucher.”

The Trading Online Voucher from LEO Limerick was a grant worth €2,500 which helped Fíor redesign its website which helped the company enhance their online presence. Sean stated that moving forward he will continue to avail of supports from LEO Limerick and regularly attends their events and workshops to stay on top of the latest trends in business.

Speaking about the supports available, LEO Limerick Business Advisor, Siobhan Quinn said, “The good news is there’s a number of supports available. We offer supports in terms of funding, grants, mentoring, and training; there really is a huge benefit.”

Siobhan explained the Trading Online Voucher is for local businesses who do not have a website or are looking to upgrade their current website, LEO Limerick offers supports up to €2,500.

Speaking at a recent retail workshop, one of LEO Limerick’s many events throughout the year, Siobhan said, “We’ve recently launched something called Digital for Business and Grow Digital, where we can offer supports in terms of funding for your digital journey. So not necessarily for upgrading your website, but perhaps you need to utilise Some CRM systems or whatever it might be that will make your business more efficient.”

LEO Limerick offers many supports for local businesses no matter what part of their business journey they are on; Sean told I Love Limerick he attends as many workshops as possible.

He said, “It’s great, I always try to go to as many of these events as possible to keep upskilling, keep in the loop of everything that’s going on.”
