Emma Langford, Melissa Shaginoff, and Lauren McNamara will take the stage at the Whitehouse Bar as part of First Fortnight Therapy Sessions

Presented in association with Poetry Ireland, First Fortnight brings an edition of Therapy Sessions, which will be performed in Limerick this year as part of the First Wednesday Series.
The Whitehouse Bar, famous for its connection with local literary arts is the perfect setting for this event which will be hosted by poet Stephen James Smith.
Melissa Shaginoff is part of the Udzisyu (caribou) and Cui Ui Ticutta (fish-eater) clans from Nay’dini’aa Na Kayax (Chickaloon Village, Alaska). She is of Ahtna and Paiute descent. Melissa is travelling from Canada will share poems, stories and music alongside an eclectic mix of Irish artists.
Limerick singer-songwriter Emma Langford will be onstage too alongside local poet and First Wednesday co-host Lauren McNamara. Expect great music, close-up readings, luminous vocals, an uplifting and memorable night!
First Fortnight is a charity that challenges mental health prejudice and stigma through arts and cultural action. The festival harnesses the power of the arts as a catalyst for change, healing, and community engagement, ensuring that mental health is recognised, discussed, and supported in every corner of society.
Across Ireland, the group achieve this through our Centre for Creative Arts Therapies and the First Fortnight Annual Festival.
The ‘First Wednesday Series’ is a monthly poetry reading and open-mic event hosted by The Poetry Circle (Limerick Writers’ Centre) and Lime Square Poets. Held on the first Wednesday of each month at the Whitehouse Bar, 52 O’Connell St. in Limerick City.
