Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh 2017 looking to be a great weekend in Kilfinane

Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh 2017 takes place in Kilfinane on Wednesday 31st May – Monday 5th June.

An incredible line up of musicians has been booked for free music seisiúnta in various locations in Kilfinane from Wednesday 31 to Monday, June 5 as part of  Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh 2017.

The line-up includes Bobby Gardiner, Nell Ní Chróinín, Caoimhin and Sean O’Fearghail, Ryan O’Donnell, Ronan Ryan, Cliona Halley and much more. There will also be a Hup na Houra concert in the restored Church of Ireland, featuring a return of the fantastic team of Liam Flanagan, Caoimhín O’Fheargail and Derek Hickey. The performance will also be accompanied by dance choreography by Ciara Flanagan with Rachael Lynch and Micháel Fogerty. Comhaltas, under the Dept of Arts, and Ballyhoura CCC have created an itinerary of walks, a family fun day, art workshops, pop up Gaeltacht, traditional trails and open markets. We can look forward to free trad music sessions in a multitude of Kilfinane bars.

Thursday 1st June:
Official Opening with Hup na Houra Traditional music, song and dance show by Ballyhoura CCE, featuring some of Irelands finest musicians. Booking Required.

Friday 2nd June:
Friday Mol na Oige at 6.30pm followed by dancing competitions.
Fleadh competitions from 8 pm onwards.

Saturday 3rd June:
Fleadh Competitions
Open air market with artisan food producers
Family fun day at the Church of Ireland
Aifreann Traidisiúnta at 6.30pm
Gig Rig
Open air stage from 4pm – 6pm – Winners performance
Regional dance exhibition and Ceilí Mór at 7.30pm – 9 pm
Headline act – North Cregg on street Ceilí Mór from 9.30pm – late

Sunday 4th June:
Flead competition and Junior busking competition
Historical and outdoor activities by Ballyhoura Beo
Comhra Gaeilge / cupán tae
