Folk Musicians Unite for IMNDA Fundraiser on Thursday, October 3
The lineup for Folk for the IMNDA fundraiser will include Limerick singer-songwriter Emma Langford, Louth musician Gerry ‘Fiddle’ O’Connor, Cork band Greenshine, and Niall Keegan is set to take the stage with a group of talented musicians.

A lineup of much-loved folk musicians will take to the Dolan’s stage for a special fundraiser concert in support of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) with the message, “Until there is a cure, there is care”
The Folk for IMNDA event aims to raise much-needed funds for the charity, which provides vital services to families affected by Motor Neurone Disease across Ireland.
Musicians on the evening will include Limerick singer-songwriter Emma Langford, Louth musician Gerry ‘Fiddle’ O’Connor, Cork band Greenshine, and Niall Keegan is set to take the stage with a group of talented musicians.
Limerick singer-songwriter Emma Langford has earned accolades such as the RTÉ Folk Award for Best Emerging Artist and is an advocate for Irish arts and culture. Langford is on the road around Ireland, the US and Germany, collaborating with various international communities, and continuing her Arts Council-supported research around Irish women in myth and history.
Gerry O’Connor, hailed as one of the greats of his generation, will perform on the evening, his career has seen him perform with legendary groups such as Planxty and The Chieftains and he is celebrated for his mastery of traditional Irish music. His unique style is heavily influenced by his background in step dancing and collaborations with other Irish music icons.
Cork-based family trio, Greenshine, comprising Noel Shine, Mary Greene and their daughter Ellie will bring their talents to the stage with material which straddles the boundaries of contemporary, folk and roots and includes many self-penned songs. The band is known for striking family harmonies and excellent musicianship.
Completing the lineup, Niall Keegan will be performing on the night with a group of talented and accomplished musicians – a mix of alumni and current lecturers in the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, UL
All funds raised will go directly to the IMNDA, supporting services like specialised equipment, home care grants, and counselling for those living with MND. With more than 85 per cent of the IMNDA’s income coming from fundraising, events like this are essential in continuing their work.
