LIT to offer Free French Revision Workshop to Leaving Cert Students

Following on from the extremely popular Leaving Certificate Maths Revision Seminar Series, Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) has announced an additional Free Revision Seminar for students undertaking the Leaving Certificate French (Higher Level) examination in June 2019.

Delivered in partnership with www.FrenchNotes.ie, the French seminar will take place at the Moylish Campus, Limerick on Tuesday 28th May from 7-9pm.

LIT President, Professor Vincent Cunnane (Or another LIT member) said, “LIT is delighted to facilitate another free pre-leaving certificate workshop. Our maths seminars proved to be extremely successful, filling up in a matter of hours. We trust that the French workshops will prove as useful to Leaving Cert students. The final few weeks before the state exams can be particularly demanding for students, so we are happy to help alleviate any stresses and provide any assistance that can help with pre-exam study.”

The French workshop will be taught by Elizabeth Hayes Lyne, a French teacher with 25 years experience and owner of frenchnotes.ie – one of Ireland’s most comprehensive collection of French Junior and Leaving Cert Revision Notes.

Ms Hayes Lyne said, “We are delighted to be given the opportunity by LIT to present a two hour seminar on the French Leaving Cert Exam. During the course, we will cover 55% of the exam including the reading section which accounts for 30%, and the written section which covers 25% of total marks allocated. Students will already have completed the French Oral, which carries a maximum of 100 marks or 25% of the entire French exam. The listening section accounts for 20% of the exam, but will not be covered as part of the seminar. I will be delighted to answer any questions during the course of the seminar.”

The French Revision workshop is free of charge to all Leaving Cert students studying for the Higher Level Exam. Students must register for the workshop in advance as spaces are limited.
