Friends of the Elderly Mayoral Reception

Mayor Gerry McLoughlin held a mayoral reception to honour the volunteers and members of Friends of the Elderly Limerick (FOTE). Located on Carey’s Road, the primary aim of FOTE, a non profit, volunteer based group is to give elderly people a better social life to prevent them from being isolated in this high tech world.  We will all grow old one day and they need your help to keep their work going, as they are unfunded and volunteer based. The reception was great fun with all the elderly reminiscing about the old days in Limerick. The mayor was warm and funny and everyone agreed the experience was one they will never forget. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
