Limerick Writers’ Centre and Mid-West Regional Drugs & Alcohol Forum to Launch “Frontline Voices” to shine a light on people working with vulnerable communities

The Limerick Writers’ Centre and the Mid-West Regional Drugs & Alcohol Forum have joined together to release a new collection of work to share the stories of people working with vulnerable communities.
The collection announced this week shines a light on the essential work being carried out with vulnerable populations across the Mid-West region and beyond.
This important publication brings together the voices, experiences, and insights of frontline workers who dedicate themselves to supporting some of society’s most marginalised individuals. By sharing these stories, Frontline Voices aims to foster deeper understanding and connection between those working on the frontlines and the wider community.
“We hope this collection helps readers truly understand both the work being done and the people it serves,” said a spokesperson for the project. “These stories deserve to be heard.”
The book is set to be launched on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 am at Istabraq Hall, Merchants Quay, followed by a reception. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to [email protected].
Complimentary copies of Frontline Voices will be available to all attendees at the launch. The organisers invite media representatives, community leaders, healthcare professionals, and members of the public to join in celebrating the voices and dedication of those working to build a more inclusive and compassionate society.
The Limerick Writers’ Centre supports and promotes literary arts throughout the region, providing resources and opportunities for writers at all stages of their careers.
The Mid-West Regional Drugs & Alcohol Forum works to address substance use issues through coordination, education, and support services across the Mid-West region.
