In recent times, the Irish Language has come under fire by politicians and it’s clear that protecting our native language is more important now than ever.

Every parent in Limerick and beyond has at one stage pondered if there was a way to make the subject fun, enjoyable and engaging for their son/daughter.

This is exactly the problem that a group of local teachers have set out to solve.

GaelGo Camps is an exciting new Irish Language Summer Camp which aims to foster a love for our native language in students by allowing them to pursue their passions through the language.

Whether your son/daughter is interested in sports, music, dance, drama, arts and crafts, team building etc. GaelGo Camps have an activity perfect for them.

The Limerick Camp will run from the June 29 –July 3 in Gaelscoil Sairséal and is open to students from all schools and with all levels of Irish.

Camp director Éamon Ó Corcráin has stated: “The primary aim of GaelGo Camps is to provide all students from all backgrounds the opportunity to enjoy our native language in a fun, safe and engaging environment”.

The Team

The dedicated team includes fully qualified Irish teachers who are all Garda Vetted and experts in creating fun and engaging curricula for children through the medium of Irish.

It is local community language events such as GaelGo Camps that keep our language alive outside of the Gaeltacht areas.

Whether your son, daughter, nephew or grandson only have a “cúpla focal” now is the time to be using them, as they say, “Beatha teanga í a labhairt” – The life of a language is in speaking it.

This exciting activity-based camp is suitable for all students, those from English medium schools and Gaelscoileanna.
