Limerick City and County Council has officially unveiled Golf Limerick, a major new strategic marketing initiative designed to position Limerick as a premier international golf destination ahead of, and long after the Ryder Cup 2027 at Adare Manor.

Developed as a Limerick specific legacy project, Golf Limerick aims to ensure the global spotlight brought by the Ryder Cup delivers sustained economic and tourism benefits for Limerick in partnership with the seven Limerick Golf courses.

Golf Limerick marks the first time the county has introduced a dedicated destination brand focused exclusively on golf tourism. The initiative brings together Limerick’s diverse golf offering – from championship courses to exceptional parkland experiences, under a single, unified identity.

Beyond the fairways, the campaign integrates Limerick’s extensive hospitality, events and cultural and heritage attractions, creating a compelling and complete visitor experience for both the domestic and international audience.

While the Ryder Cup 2027 represents a once in a generation opportunity, Golf Limerick is designed to ensure its impact is felt for years to come. The initiative shifts positioning from that of an event host to a sustainable, year-round golf destination.

The initiative will shine a spotlight on our tourism partners, local businesses and key stakeholders to maximise visitor numbers, extend stays and enhance the overall tourism offering.

It is a long-term platform designed to harness the visibility, reputation and visitor flow generated by the Ryder Cup and translate it into enduring value for Limerick.

As part of the campaign rollout, a new video promotional asset has also been developed, celebrating golf through a Limerick lens and showcasing our incredible courses, the majestic Shannon, the buzzing city and lush landscapes of the county.

This high-quality promotional video will serve as a key tool in the promotion of Limerick, bringing the initiative’s story to life and inspiring audiences to choose Limerick as their next golfing destination.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran said the launch of the initiative is a step to “maximise the opportunity presented by the Ryder Cup 2027”.

He said, “While the event itself will bring global attention, this initiative ensures that Limerick continues to benefit long after the final putt. It is about positioning our city and county as a world-class destination, not just for golf, but for the full experience we have to offer.”
