Limerick’s two universities offer an exceptional student experience, according to The Times national Good University Guide 2022, published last Sunday, November 14.
The student experience at the University of Limerick was evaluated as second-best nationwide, just losing out to University College Dublin (UCD).
Despite entering the guide with university status for the first time, the Technical University of the Shannon (TUS) still reached third place in the student experience category.
Both Limerick institutes placed in the top ten overall. UL was ranked an impressive fourth, two spots up from last year, while TUS came in ninth place alongside Waterford IT.
UL also boasts an employment rate of 98%, joint-highest with University College Cork (UCC) and National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG).
Taking to Twitter, the university’s Presidents Volunteer Award Programme said, “It takes an entire institution, faculty & staff, to make happy graduates. The UL PVA team are delighted to be part of an institution that focuses on the student experience”.

New entry TUS also impressed, with 68.9% of students graduating with a first or second class honours degree.
“We are proud to rank in the Good University Guide top ten universities in Ireland, building on the success of our founding institutions, AIT and LIT, to create a powerful new cross-regional university”, commented TUS.
The Times’ Guide provides students at any level of study with fact-based information in area’s ranging from college experience to graduate prospects, helping them decide the best place at which to study.
