This World AIDS Day, Monday, December 1st, GOSHH (Gender Orientation Sexual Health HIV) is inviting everyone to take part in a day of action, awareness, and connection. They are tackling the two biggest challenges in HIV prevention—stigma and accessibility—and we’d love for you to join them.

Drop by their office for a community coffee and chat with their friendly testing team. Learn more about HIV, break down stigma, and if you like, receive a free HIV rapid test—it’s quick, confidential, and empowering. To make things even easier, they are extending our testing hours until 6:30pm.

They are also hosting two showings of the acclaimed Irish documentary How to Tell a Secret, at 12pm and 5pm. The film opens up honest conversations about disclosure and living with HIV today.

This year’s international theme, “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response,” calls for practical action—and that’s exactly what GOSHH is doing. By offering accessible testing and safe spaces for conversation, we’re helping remove barriers and support a stigma-free community.

“Even with incredible treatment advances, stigma and late diagnosis are still major hurdles,” says Ayushi Patel, Sexual Health Engagement Coordinator. “By offering late-night testing and screening How to Tell a Secret, we’re creating opportunities for conversation, understanding, and early diagnosis.”

GOSHH also highlights the vital message of U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable): people living with HIV who are on effective treatment with an undetectable viral load cannot transmit HIV sexually. Testing is the first step to treatment, health, and stopping transmission.

Come by, grab a coffee, watch a film, get tested, or just have a chat—let’s mark World AIDS Day together and support a healthier, more open Ireland.
